Bowls provides good, but not strenuous, exercise in a rewarding social context. The Bowls Group plays on the Matlock Golf Club's crown green, which is situated in an open, elevated position with splendid views and all the usual club facilities. We normally have about 15 bowlers (several of whom are beginners) each week who play in a very relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Experienced players provide tuition and guidance for beginners. Spare bowls are available for borrowing. Newcomers are very welcome and should first contact one of the joint Coordinators for further details. The group’s joint co-ordinators are Margaret Farnsworth and Elvee Hall, who can be contacted by telephone on 01629 823267 and 01629 57345 respectively. The Bowls Group meets weekly on Mondays from April 1st until September 30th at the Matlock Golf Club's crown green from 10.00 a.m. until 12 noon. The cost is £1.80 (including refreshments) per session. The Bowls Group's activities are currently suspended for the winter. They will resume again on Monday April 2nd. |
