The aim of the Art Appreciation Group is to explore any and all aspects of Art, as agreed by the group, and to exchange information, experience, and opinions in order to enable each member of the group to learn and contribute equally, in a friendly and supportive atmosphere. We use whatever means are appropriate, including individual presentations, discussion, demonstrations, visits to galleries and other exhibitions, visiting speakers and visits to artists’ studios.

There is currently no charge for room-hire. Refreshments cost 30p. The cost of any visiting speakers will be shared between members of the Group. The costs of travel and entry to art galleries, etc, are the responsibility of members.

The group’s co-ordinator is John Oldfield, who can be contacted by email by clicking on his name, or by telephone on 01629 733296.

The Art Appreciation Group normally meets at St Elphin's Park, Dale Road South, Darley Dale, on the second Tuesday of each month from 2.00 p.m. to 4.00 p.m. Visits to exhibitions are usually held in addition to these meetings.
