The aim of this group is to explore the wonderful world of jazz. With a wealth of recorded jazz music available, there is plenty of jazz to discover in the various styles (New Orleans, big band, and modern jazz). We shall also be acquainting ourselves with the contemporary jazz scene by attending, from time to time, live performances taking place in and around Derby. The Jazz Appreciation Group meets on the 3rd Thursday of each month from 2.00 p.m. to 4.00 p.m.. The location varies, but can be ascertained from the group coordinator. |
