Although most of the organisational work associated with the Matlock Area U3A is carried out by the coordinators of the various interest groups, the Constitution of the Matlock Area U3A establishes a Management Committee which is charged with providing self-help, educational, leisure and recreational opportunities for older people no longer in full time gainful employment in Matlock and its surrounding locality in the interests of their social welfare.

The members of the Management Committee are elected annually by the membership at the Annual General Meeting. The current membership of the Management Committee is as follows:
